Q: I want to host a gathering for my neighbourhood and the My Vaccine Pass will be used. How do I communicate this to my neighbours?

If the My Vaccine Pass is being used, we recommend letting people know beforehand that this will be required to attend. (eg. on the invite, poster, or via text message). You can check people’s passes at the door and as appropriate use the scanning app. Having Covid-19 Protection Framework signage up might also help people navigate this and make people feel more comfortable.

Q: I want to host a small gathering for my neighbourhood of under 50 people but I still want to use the My Vaccine Pass. Is this ok and how do I communicate this? 

Yes, you can. If you wish to add extra layers of protection, you are welcome to do so. If the My Vaccine Pass is being used, we recommend letting people know beforehand that this will be required to attend (eg. on the invite, poster, or via text message). Check people’s passes at the door and use the scanning app if you wish.. Having Covid-19 Protection Framework signage up might also help navigate this and make people feel comfortable.

Q:  I want to host a small gathering for my neighbourhood of under 50 people and I won’t be using the My Vaccine Pass. Is this ok and how do I communicate this? 

Under the Covid-19 Protection Framework, you are allowed to host gatherings of under 50 people (including children). They can be a mix of people with and without My Vaccine Pass. The limit applies to both indoor and outdoor venues. We recommend letting people know beforehand that the My Vaccine Pass won’t be used so they can make an informed decision whether they attend. 

Q:  Can I serve and share food at my Neighbours Day event?

Yes, under the Covid-19 Protection Framework, food can be served and shared. If your gathering is at a hospitality venue, for example at a licensed restaurant, you need to follow the hospitality advice.

Q: Our event will be held inside at a private property and we will be using the My Vaccine Pass.  Do we have to practice social distancing at our Neighbours Day event 

No, you don’t have to practice social distancing inside when using the My Vaccine Pass but we do recommend ventilating the inside area where possible.

Q: Our event will be held outside at a private property and we will be using the My Vaccine Pass.  Do we have to practice social distancing at our Neighbours Day event.

At a gathering at your home, people do not have to keep 1 metre apart inside. At gatherings held at other venues, there can be up to 50 people based on 1-metre physical distancing in a single defined space at the venue at any time.

At a gathering at your home, people do not have to keep 1 metre apart inside. At gatherings held at other venues, there can be up to 50 people based on 1-metre physical distancing in a single defined space at the venue at any time.
